Renovating
The condition of the rooms is very
good. The floors are quite a bit used and there are places where the lacquer is
completely gone but we decided to leave them like that for it really adds charm
to the working areas and they will get worn anyway. We have only overworked the floor of one room. This room is
supposed to become the showroom. A cosy area separate from the other rooms,
where customers can try out our instruments. The before-later picture shows
quite a change and it came out nicely with some hard wax oil finish.
A necessary job was painting the walls. So we removed all the baseboards, they looked rubbish
anyway and will be replaced, and had some serious discussions about colours.
At the end we decided on a warm ivory white and painted the showroom and the backroom of the workshop, which is now the “vanilla room”, with it. For the front workshop room we got a nice grey which turned out nicely for its cool looks and it is more comfortable for the resting eye. The showroom also got one wall painted in a greyish blue that looks really nice.
