Making cool Shavings
Making some cool shavings while working on the Sitka/Olivewood OM. This wood is very special and therefore in order to show the respect I have for this material I try to work it into a special guitar. I mean if you are building so few instruments like I do every single one is very special and unique of course. But now and then I get my hands on some very rare and/or beautiful material that makes me want to do a little extra. In this case I made a herringbone purfling and used "half of a herringbone" or a "rope" pattern for the purfling and rosette. Its all shopmade and it takes quite a lot of patient work to make it. Its made of all natural colours like Amarant, Padauk and Boxwood with black lines.
