Jack in a box
The second box is on its way! I am very excited to build a guitar with maple. In this case a very beautifully flamed maple. As you can see on the picture above the small wooden blocks, the Spanish call them peones, to connect the sides to the top are not that small on this one. At least on some places.
The guitar shall get Laskin style armrests on the lower bout to support comfort for the right arm and below the fingerboard to help an easy access to the upper registers. Especially in combination with an elevated fingerboard. They are called Laskin armrests after William "Grit" Laskin who was the first luthier to come up with a guitar that had a bevel on the lower bout to increase the comfort for the right arm. Although as he says, at first he was laught at, a lot a luthier do them today. And especially guitarists are very supporting about it because it makes long practice hours with the guitar more enjoyable and less painfull or tiring for the right arm. So I'd give it a go.
