Learning from the Past

Starting 2015 with a project I am very excited about. In order to broaden my horizon I decided to learn from the past and copy (almost) old classics. In this case it is a 1940 Gibson L-00 which is a small 14th fret parlor guitar. I especially like the slim shape of it.
I'll use the original plans for the bracing and shape
but I won't make an exact copy and rather bring in some changes from my own building style. Meaning a spanish body neck joint and a thinner top. Also I will use some different woods. The original is made with an Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. In my case it will be a European Alpine Spruce top and Santos Rosewood back and sides.
